The Nightowlcolholic's last Thai blogging with running ant video!

i just can't let it go. an occasional friend of mine by the name of 'jesse' (that might be an alias) said i should just put my favorite 'chick and elephant' photos on here and be done with this thailand blog. in a way, i agree.. but it's not happening (it doesn't always happen). i decided to put the afore mentioned photos up in here and finish my damn thailand excursion. that shit was awesome. you should have been there.

thailand has sick beaches so we went and hung out on one for days straight. i like to get silly and make a fool of myself on a regular basis but there's something to be said for lurking on a warm beach with time to think. the beach we hung out on was just north of the area of thailand that got hit the hardest by the tsunami. i didn't realize it at first, but our beach (nai yang beach) was completely washed away during the tsunami. it looked old but it turned out that it was rebuilt from the debris that was left.

this dogs name is tsunami. she was a 3 month old puppy when the wave hit and was found about a half mile away stuck in the branch of a coconut tree.

this is mr. kobi. he owns a bar there and is the one that found tsunami. he feeds 4 or 5 'stray' dogs that cruise around the beach.

all the dogs that cruise around on their own follow you around at night when there's nobody else around.

our clothes line. the trees and land in the background are fucked up because of the tsunami. we were about a third of a mile inland from the beach.

we stumbled across a muay thai boxing training camp on the way home one night.

i was way into it, but it can be a little intimidating to barge someplace where everyone can kick your ass even though they're 11 years old.

as you can tell from the white guy in the middle, we bonded pretty quick. i was gonna fight the kid on the left before this photo was taken but i accidentally blinded him with my whiteness. sorry dewd.

a couple o' days into our stay i met a guy named 'oi' (pronounced like 'joy' without the J). he was born on nai yang beach and has lived there for all of his 46(?) years. he's the leader of all the fisherman on the beach and was nice enough to invite me to join him for his daily squid harvest. i said fuck yeah.

oi was totally down with the spb's. he loved the art and let me post up a mascot for the boat...

i remember the first time i shaved my face with a razor. this was it.

i've always wanted to do a splash page for fecalface but never got around to it. i made this thinking john would want to use it but then i never sent it to him. it must be pretty cool for a dewd to know that another dewd was thinking of you half way around the world even though you aren't gay.

the night before we left we went to oi's resturant and ate the best food i had in thailand. i gave the fish eye to 'tsunami mama' (mother of the afore mentioned tsunami puppy).

we left the beach and headed north to hang out in the jungle for a day or two. on the way, we passed a ship that that had settled about a mile inland during the tsunami. the ocean was far enough on our left that we couldn't even see it. our driver guy said everyone on board died. fuck.

we stayed in a tree house next to a river under a huge ass cliff. i don't know how high that shit was but monkey's came down at sunrise and sunset and made cool noises.

you need a mosquito net in the jungle.

and a big ass grasshopper net. i found out the next day that these things bite really hard. this dewd almost flew right into jill face and, a couple o' days later, i did get hit in the face by one when i was climbing up to the treehouse.

thanks to this guy, named bird, we got to do some skin ups while we were there.

these are coco leaves (or so we were told). we ate them and got a little hyper and they made our mouths numb so, even if they weren't, they did their job.

jill asked about taking some of these home with us on the plane. as you can tell from this text, it was a great idea that it never happened.

back in bangcock.

when we arrived in bangcock it turned out i had brought a visitor with me. a big ass cockroach had crept into my laundry, buried itself in my shorts and ended up on my leg when i put them on. i pretty much freaked out and grabbed the dewd with my shirt and tried to toss him out the window of our hotel.

my last night there i headed into chinatown and came across some cool shit.

i guess american jocks get drunk and do stupid shit all over the world.
